Our Founder's Story...
"They Grow So Fast" began as a brainstorm idea of Stacy's in January of 1993.
After advertising for two weeks, she opened for business on May 1, 1993 with a
very limited selection of clothing and items to choose from. However, as soon as
word spread of this new consignment shop tucked in the back of The Forge
shopping center, consignments started pouring in! We outgrew our quaint 500
sq ft. store by 1996 and made the short move up to the front of The Forge
shopping center and graduated to a street front location. The move proved to
be a good one, and after a few more prosperous years we outgrew our space
again. We were so fortunate to find a space just across the street available for
lease. Joining together with Pony Tails Hair Salon, we smoothly made the
transition to our current location in 1999. This space has proved to be a
wonderful location and has enabled us to offer many special events for our
customers and the community. We also were so fortunate to have Children's
Paw Prints move into our building, creating what we like to call, "the best one stop
kids shop" in the east bay. Happy with our bright and spacious store, and the
wonderful kid friendly environment, we are always so thrilled to have the
opportunity to meet your family and get to see your kids "grow so fast" in the
coming years. When her family decided to move to Colorado, Stacy was glad to
be able to sell the business to Sandra, whom she had gotten to know very well
over the years as both a long-time customer and an employee. Thank you for
indulging our trip down memory lane, from a mere rack of clothing on opening
day to "the best kid's consignment shop in the East Bay!" We couldn't have done
it without you and your thoughtful recycling these past 15 years.
